World Mission

We take seriously Jesus’ commission to his followers to take the gospel into all the world and to make disciples of Jesus.

We have a long history of sending and supporting Mission Partners in different parts of the world. Currently we have three families serving with Agapé in student ministry, making Jesus known in Copenhagen, Rome and Newcastle. Another family is involved in pioneering work of reaching people with the gospel in a sensitive location. Another couple are currently in training with a view to going to East Asia. These are all people who have been sent out from our church.

We also have Associate Mission Partners working with international students in Birmingham, and with youth ministry in the Anglican diocese of Marsabit in northern Kenya. More details can be found in our Mission Links leaflet.

In addition, through individuals in our church, there are a number of links with ministries in Bolivia, Indonesia, China and Romania.

We also encourage students and others to go on short-term mission trips, such as those organised by OMF’s Serve Asia programme.

In May 2021, we enjoyed meeting with most of our mission partners and hearing from them about God’s work in them and the people around them, and hearing about what they have learned from serving the Lord in different places. Here are the highlights of what they shared with us.
