Gill and Keith Croxton

We joined St Stephen’s in 1967 having moved to Birmingham from Shropshire with work. We moved away from Birmingham in 1990 so spent 24 very happy years at the church. We have fond memories of the church during this period, a time of growth and blessings. Pathfinder and CYFA groups started, the Church Centre on the Pershore Rd became a hive of activity with Pathfinder games nights (including mad 20 a side football) and then the start of services on a Sunday. St Wulstan’s became part of the parish bringing new opportunities. We were privileged to start Ichthys, a student group that met in our home in Willow Road. We recall Pathfinder holidays at Ty Carreg, CYFA House parties, Ichthys weekends away and one memorable Parish Weekend away at the Hayes Conference Centre.

We are hugely grateful to the Lord  for the fellowship, friendship, teaching and support we received at St. Stephen’s which went with us as we moved to Merseyside and West Lancashire, where we joined the fellowship of Christ Church, Aughton.  In 1996 we retired and moved to the market town of Buckingham where we have been living and worshipping at Buckingham Parish Church.  We continue to serve the Lord in various ways but no longer youth work!
