Children

The aim of the children’s work at St Stephen’s and St Wulstan’s is to:

Partner with parents and carers to make and mature disciples of Jesus Christ.

Sunday Activities

The following groups run during the 10.00am and 4.00pm services at St Stephen’s:

Crèche (age 0 – 3)

Parents are encouraged to return to church, but are welcome to stay in Crèche if necessary. There is a video link to the service.

Climbers (age 3 – Year 1) & Explorers (Year 2 – 6)

At the 10am service the children come into church for the first part of the service (about 15 minutes) and then leave for activities in their own age groups, upstairs in the Tyndale room.

They then return to the service during the closing song.

At the 4pm service the children start off in their groups and return to the service for the final 15 minutes.

Once a month there is an All-Age Service where the whole church family stays together for the entire service.

Other Activities

Stay and Play (Age 0 – 3)

Stay and Play is for parents, carers, toddlers and babies and meets every Friday during term-time, 10.00 – 11.30am in the Cranmer Room at St Stephen’s. Join us for fun, games and songs. There is a charge of £1.50 per family, which includes drinks and toast (for adults as well as children!).

Explorers (Year 2 – Year 6)

At Explorers on Thursdays we play games, make craft and learn about Jesus. We meet at St Stephens’s on Thursdays during term time, 6 – 7pm.

Holiday Activities

We also run lots of different events during school holidays for children from Reception to Year 6.
